Coconut Bark (Cocada)

INGREDIENTS:

1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
1 ½ cups long shredded coconut
4 ounces water
1/3 cup butter
2 cups milk
4 egg yolks
1 cinnamon stick

PREPARATION:

Simmer sugar, cinnamon and 4 ounces of water. When it starts to boil, add the coconut. When it changes color, add the egg yolks previously mixed with milk and continue stirring until you see the bottom of the pan. Pour into a heat-resistant dish and wait for it to cool. Place pieces of butter on top and place in the oven to brown.
